3 Essential Web Design Dublin Tips

As soon as a visitor lands on your website they will be looking for clarification on what your brand exactly is, why you provide the products or services that you do and who you do it for.

If this is not clear from the get-go a visitor won’t stick around for very long. It’s very easy as a business to be so proud of your services you forget to make this information abundantly clear to your audience.

You can have a great look to your website but you need to incorporate a number of factors into your web design to make it effective. The look, feel, content and how easy it is to navigate the site all contribute to effective web design. Web design done right caters for the overall user experience.

Define A Plan In Advance

Before even embarking on the web design journey, have a clear and concise plan of what you want to gain out of your website in advance.

What exactly do you want from your target audience? Do you want users landing on your website to call for the services you provide? Do you want them to fill out a contact form or do you simply want to provide engaging and informative content to readers?

Setting out your goals in advance is the first thing you should be doing with your website. Users should be directed easily to what you want them to do and this should be clear from the outset.

Strong Calls To Action Placement

So you’ve set up a clear plan in advance of what you want to get out of users visiting your website. Now you have to make it as easy as possible for the user to get to that location and act.

You could liken a call to action on a website to a sign in a physical store with the words “Buy Now”. The key is to place call to actions in a place that is highly visible at the top of a page and have a colourful button that stands out.

The most effective call to action buttons are placed under a big headline with a large and relevant background image to accompany them.

Don’t Overcomplicate

The pages on your website should be designed in a simple way. Avoid cluttering and making pages complicated.

Content should be easy to understand and not too lengthy because the average user only has an attention span of 8 seconds. Vague and ambiguous content is a no-no.

Stick to the main points for each page and incorporate short sections of text separated by larger sub headings and banners. Images and icons are also useful ways of conveying a message and visually appealing.
